Adult Diploma Program

CWL's Adult Diploma Program (ADP) is an alternative high school diploma program for adults. The program comprises six areas of study, bound together by the central themes of continual skill development. Students produce a portfolio of work with extensive writing and other research projects that is evaluated and approved by the President of CWL and the Principal of an accredited Massachusetts high school. The students earn a real high school diploma.

The program combines traditional academic course work with reflection on life and work experience. The core courses are Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, U.S. History, Information Technology, and the Life Employment Skills Workshop. The latter integrates workplace relevant skills necessary to become a more productive and promotable employee.

Four Features of the ADP

  • Workplace Integration
Links the students' academic studies with their work experience. Classes are offered at the students' workplace or at a location/residence nearby.
  • Academic Fundamentals
Basic writing and presentation skills are developed throughout the program.
  • Information Technology
Students learn and apply word processing, internet research and spreadsheet software skills in all courses.
  • Support Services
A diploma consultant is on site for counseling, tutorials, or academic assistance.
